あくまで私の観測範囲内での話なのですが…
ギャルでtumblrを使っている方が増えはじめたような気がします。

2011年春ころに人口増が起きた気がします。読者モデルなど当該分野の著名人がはじめた、などの事情があるのでしょうか（ご存知の方がいたら、ご教示下さい。）。

そのうち、雑誌「小悪魔ageha」がTumblr特集を組む、なんてことも、ありえるかもしれません。
tumblrの設計思想（ http://j.ktamura.com/archives/1489 などを参照）からすれば、アドオン等を駆使して秒速でリブログするギークよりも、「正統な」利用者なのかもしれません。
